2/18/14-Tuesday-A Day

ENG 9
Warm Up: Use your JOURNAL. Create a K-W-L with 3 columns. Title the chart "The Great Depression." In the K column list what you already KNOW about The Great Depression. In the W column list what you WANT to know about The Great Depression. List at least 3 items in each column. Save the L column for the end of class.
Classwork: Cornell Notes on The Great Depression Powerpoint-You must retrieve the notes from a classmate.
Journal: List at least 3 facts you have learned about The Great Depression in the L column.
HW: No homework tonite
A1- Had a TKAM quiz at the beginning of class. Sorry, you have missed the quiz.
A4- Will be taking TKAM quiz next class.

Warm Up: Imagine If…
The war on terror has escalated its fighting throughout the eastern border of the United States. The adults feel that they must protect future generations. You and your classmates are being sent away via plane to save you from death in the case that we are bombed. You know some of the people on the plane but not all of them. Suddenly, the plane is struck and goes plummeting to the ground. Now you and others have emerged from the plane. You don’t recognize your surroundings. There are no houses or buildings anywhere. Standing on the sand, all you can see are trees in front of you and ocean on all sides. What would be your initial reaction?
Classwork: Cornell Notes on the LOTF Background information. You must retrieve the notes from a classmate.
Journal: Reflect on the following quote.
